Unwanted-72 is an emergency contraceptive tablet intended to help prevent an unwanted or unplanned pregnancy after unprotected sexual intercourse or contraceptive failure. Uses of Unwanted 72

Unwanted-72 is used to reduce the risk of pregnancy after unprotected intercourse or contraceptive failure. For the best chance of preventing pregnancy, it should be taken as soon as possible after unprotected sex.

How It Works

Unwanted-72 contains a synthetic progestin that works primarily by preventing or delaying ovulation. By delaying the release of an egg from the ovary, it can reduce the possibility of fertilisation. Emergency contraception does not terminate an established pregnancy and is not an abortion medicine. It does not interrupt an established pregnancy or harm a developing embryo.

How to Use

Take the tablet orally as soon as possible after unprotected intercourse, following the instructions provided with the product. Emergency contraceptive pills are more effective when taken earlier rather than later. If vomiting occurs within about two hours of taking an emergency contraceptive pill, another dose may be needed; consult a healthcare professional or follow the product instructions.

Possible Side Effects

Some women may experience temporary side effects after taking an emergency contraceptive pill. These may include nausea, vomiting, headache, dizziness, tiredness, abdominal discomfort, breast tenderness, spotting, or changes in the timing or flow of the next menstrual period. Unwanted-72 does not protect against sexually transmitted infections (STIs), including HIV. Condoms can help reduce the risk of STI transmission as well as pregnancy when used correctly.
